On Saturday the 23rd of March, at the close of the February half term, four year 12 students and two year 11 students travelled with Mrs Probodziak to Oxford to attend the German Open Day at the University. The day consisted of introductory sessions to what it entails to study German at Oxford University, why you might choose this degree, and what are the requirements to submit an application. After this, students went along to taster seminars that they had chosen in advance. For example, on the study of German film, medieval German poetry, Translation, Learning German with Native Speakers at University, and various periods of German literature (including drama). The day was brought to a close by a question and answer session during which visitors could ask current students and professors their own questions about the degree and application process.
