Last week we returned to the 1950s to enjoy the romantic musical comedy 'Guys and Dolls'. We watched as Nathan Detroit tried to find a venue for his illegal crap game without letting his disapproving fiance Adelaide, or Lieutenant Brannigan find out. We saw Joey Biltmore agree to let him use his garage - if Nathan gave him a thousand bucks. When high roller Sky Masterson came into town, Nathan bet him a thousand bucks that he couldn’t take the Salvation Army missionary Sarah to Havana, and so the fun continued, ending in a mostly happy ever after.
Mr Price and his orchestra filled the hall with fantastic music as the cast danced and sang their way from Broadway, to the sewers, to Havana before finally giving testimony in the save-a-soul mission house.
The show was great fun and proved yet again that Olavian students are so much more than their exam results! Congratulations to all the performers, and the tech team, for a superb production, and thank you to everyone who helped make it happen.
