The St. Olave’s Great Hall stage was transformed tonight into the platform for the school’s first bands-only concert, bringing together performances which have resulted from the dedication and hard work of a number of Olavians. The event was organised entirely by the members of the Sixth Form and featured an impressive selection of student groups. Weeks of rehearsals behind the scenes in remote practice rooms went into preparing the acts for this evening’s showcase, supported by an able team behind the lighting and sound desk.
Aizenosa, Emily, Aisosa & Moses compered the evening, welcoming an enthusiastic audience into a new Olavian musical experience, not seen at the school in recent years. On the varied programme was music originally by A-list groups such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Maroon 5, Oasis, Santana and many others, all creatively re-imagined by our very own students. We hope that the night’s feast of popular covers – a collaboration of over twenty multi-talented instrumentalists and virtuosic voices – will be the first of many similar events in the future.
Congratulations go to all performers and especially the event organisers Ivan, James, Joel and Justin.
