St Olave’s Grammar school Computer science and Maths societies held a talk on Machine Learning and Data Science for sixth form students. We invited professionals from Delta Capita, a challenger business and technology consulting firm, to talk to our students about careers available in the field of data science and machine learning. Students were enthused to learn about machine learning frameworks such as Tensor flow, PyTorch , Keras and Caffe.
There were discussions on supervised machine learning algorithms such as linear regression and how neural networks use gradient descent to take iterative steps to find minimum of a function. Yr 13 student, Zarya Mekathotti also talked about her enriching internship experience with Delta Capita.
