3 Dec - Computer Science in Action Trip


On 27th of Nov KS5 Computer science students attended the Computer Science in Action day in Emmanuel Centre.  In five lively sessions experts from academia and industry (namely Matthew Leek- smart cities expert from the University of Warwick, Rebecca Tickle-PhD student from the University of Nottingham, Jon Macey-National centre for computer animation, Amanda Prorok- University of Cambridge and Dave Cliff- British Computer Society and expert in AI revealed computer science at its very best and took our students to the cutting edge in fields such as state-of-art machine learning algorithms relating to designing smart cities, Computer animation including programming and Maths behind animations, algorithms for coordinating systems composed of multiple autonomous robots and artificial intelligence.

It was an eye opener trip for our students to see how the future is revolutionised by the advancement in Computer science and technology.
