On 4th March, every boy in Year 7 attended a production of 'Othello' at Shakespeare's Globe.
Set in the 20th century, soldiers zip wired into Cyprus to celebrate their success against the Ottoman Empire. This is a play about the outsider, that exposes the dangers of jealousy and vengeance. The boys quickly picked up on Iago's duplicity and Othello's naivety. Coping well with the complex themes they were thoroughly good natured and enthusiastic throughout.
The weather was kind, with just a short hail storm as we queued to go in. A TV crew interviewed the boys before the production and they acquitted themselves confidently.
