Two hundred and twenty Year 5 pupils thoroughly enjoyed the maths and science days at St Olave’s on 9 July.
The students learnt about Chromatography and Electromagnetism for the science half of the day and the other half of the day was spent completing a carousel of problem solving tasks. These included interactive activities such as the leaping frog problem, a polygon memory game and Sudoku. They then completed a mathematical orienteering competition that involved running around the school grounds to answer a series of easy, medium and hard mathematical problems.
Feedback from the participants was positive and we expect next year’s event on July 1 to be fully booked. Thank-you to all the staff and prefects involved for the huge amount of organisation involved
