42 AS Geography students took a four day trip to Malham, Yorkshire this week. Their main purpose was to investigate the river variables of Cowside Beck and renewable energy sources in the Yorkshire Dales. They had the pleasure of experiencing first-hand the effect of high rainfall and flash floods, as well as a working mini hydro-electric power scheme – both highly relevant to their learning and understanding. The keenest explorers in the group also undertook two optional extra walks up Goredale Scar waterfall and to the nearby Victoria Cave before breakfast! Thank you to the Geography staff for enabling this annual co-curricular venture.
