17 May - Year 7 Pianist success

The School is always pleased to receive news of the extra-curricular activities our students are involved in outside of School. For example, we recently heard of the musical achievements of Kenji, a pianist in Year 7. On 22nd April he performed in the Rochester and North Kent Music Festival winning the Castle Cup in the Modern piano music class and also the Medway Sunlight Rotary Trophy in the Classical Sonata class.

He was then invited to perform in the Championship Concert on 6th May and was awarded The Trustee Savings Bank Junior Championship Trophy for a best junior entry (solo/group) in the music classes. In the following week, he was also invited to the Selected Prizewinners' Concert at BYMT playing two pieces in front of special guests including The Mayor and MP for Bromley.

We send our congratulations to Kenji, clearly a very talented young man, and wish him continued success and enjoyment with his musical persuits.
