19 May - Chess Champion and Grand Prix Youth

Chess5

Congratulations to Aditya who recently won the title of Grand Prix Youth for his age and has become the official representative for England in International Chess Tournaments. This title is hugely competitive and is based on winning the highest aggregate score in three National Tournaments. Aditya manages to pack in a massive range of Chess activity: he will be playing in the prestigious British Chess Championship this summer; he is the top under 13 Fide rated player in the country and, not surprisingly, the highest rated Chess player in school; he has played on board 3, next to Grand Masters Chris Ward and John Emms at the prestigious Four Nations Chess League this season and has done remarkably well winning 7 games, drawing 3 and losing just 1 game out of 11 and was highly praised for cracking games against very hard opponents. We look forward to following Aditya’s extraordinary progress and, who knows, perhaps he may join the ranks of the Grand Masters one day soon.
