Year 8 trip to Aachen,Christmas Market

In November, all Year 8 students set off for Aachen to see the town, cathedral, treasury and, most importantly for some, the Christmas market.  They slept well on the comfortable coach, although some preferred chatting throughout the night!  They all enjoyed a delicious German buffet breakfast in the Café Extrablatt before browsing around the main shopping area with its Christmas decorations.  On their guided tours of the cathedral and treasury, they admired the architecture, as well as many impressive items dating back to Charlemagne, before heading off for lunch and the much anticipated shopping on the traditional Christmas market.
