25 June - Saturday Morning Computing & Robotics

Over the last six years numerous children from the community and local primary schools have had the opportunity to construct, programme and learn to control our VEX IQ Robots. Collaborating with others, they have gained an understanding of constructing successful algorithms and of key computational terms together with hands on experience of how the robots’ motors control movement for the base unit and its robotic arm.  As the challenges increased, so did their confidence in creating alternative claw constructions, and utilising the interactive sensors with ever more sophisticated programming. The pupils have never ceased to impress with their imagination and determination to become first class roboteers!  Well done to them all. Clare Slyfield
