On Friday 21st September 44 Year 13 students and 4 staff flew to Geneva to visit the home of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. On Saturday they visited the exhibitions on the CERN site, before having lunch in the staff canteen, and taking part in a guided tour of the accelerator control rooms, the AMS control room, and the magnet manufacturing facility. In the evening students enjoyed a traditional Swiss fondue dinner with an accompanying oompah band. Before returning on Sunday, they ascended Mont Saleve in a cable car to take in the views of Lake Geneva. Throughout the trip the students behaved impeccably and were a credit to the school.
