Oxbridge Offers: Two best years in School's history

Spanish

Our aim is to make boys competent in the use of the Spanish language.  This does not only involve a thorough grasp of the vocabulary and structure of the language, but also a deeper understanding of the many different cultures in the Spanish-speaking world.

We believe in the importance of bringing a language to life by spending time in the countries in which it is spoken.  It is expected that pupils currently studying GCSE Spanish as their only chosen modern foreign language will participate in our residential visit to Murcia at the end of Year 10.

However, for dual linguists intending to take a language beyond GCSE, we would recommend that they opt for either the French residential to Normandy; or the German exchange to Bavaria or the residential trip to the Rhineland.  Spanish is not offered in the Sixth Form.
