Our Year 11 students successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh assessed expedition in the South Downs, and we are delighted to report that all participants passed. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the determination and resilience shown by every student.

Over the course of the expedition, groups walked significant sections of the South Downs Way above Brighton, navigating routes that included well-known landmarks such as Devil’s Dyke, Ditchling Beacon, and Blackcap.

The terrain provided both challenge and stunning views, giving students the opportunity to demonstrate their navigation, endurance, and expedition skills in a real outdoor environment.

Throughout the expedition, teamwork was a real highlight. Students worked exceptionally well within their groups, supporting one another with navigation, decision-making, and morale. They showed maturity and cooperation at all times, and it was particularly pleasing to see how well they got on together, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Despite the physical demands of the expedition, students remained focused and motivated, walking considerable distances each day. Their perseverance and positive attitude ensured that all groups completed their routes successfully.

We are incredibly proud of all the students for their effort, teamwork, and conduct. This expedition marks a significant milestone in their Duke of Edinburgh journey, and they should feel justifiably proud of what they have achieved.
