Interview Preparation Day - How can you help?

26 Sep 2024

Every year we run an interview preparation day for Year 13 students, many of whom will be taking university interviews in the coming months. The smooth and effective running of the event is dependent on the volunteering of time and expertise from various areas – former students, current and former staff, and parents/carers.

If you are available on the morning of Saturday 23 November and feel willing and able to run some one-to-one interviews relating to particular subject disciplines, we would be delighted to have your support. Our students’ interests are broad-ranging and we therefore welcome volunteers for all disciplines, but we typically have a very challenging ratio of interviewer supply relative to interviewee demand when it comes to Medicine and Engineering, so those with expertise in these areas are particularly appreciated.

The day is centrally run in the Great Hall (not unlike a parents’ evening set up), with slots of around half an hour per student for interview/debrief, and Mr Budds will provide all interviewers with some subject-specific questions they can use, as well as a copy of the interviewees’ personal statements. Further guidance will be issued to all volunteers.

If you are willing and able to participate, please do contact Mr Budds at school.
