Outreach Programme enriches learning in local Primary Schools

This year the Outreach team has been delivering an interactive and enriching programme at Manor Oak, Tubbenden, St. Philomenas, Midfield Primary, St. Mary Cray Primary, Harris Primary. These are the schools where we run sessions fortnightly to particularly support Year 5 pupil premium students (boys and girls). The pupils have been challenged in Maths (including Non-Verbal Reasoning), Languages (ancient and modern) and English.

Specifically, the pupils have tried to solve odd one out exercises, translate basic sentences in Latin and write a poem. We have also embedded some peaceful principles in the sessions to help pupils manage their emotions when dealing with difficult tasks. Through a variety of activities, we aim at boosting the pupils’ confidence and resilience when solving a mathematical problem, enhancing their literacy skills when expressing themselves in different subject languages, and improving their exam techniques ahead of school entrance tests.
