Sleep out for Bromley Homeless
Tonight, about 60 Sixth Form students are going to be sleeping outside, overnight, at school, to raise money and awareness for Bromley Homeless.
Students will be sleeping in sleeping bags, on cardboard boxes, to get a feel for the uncomfortable, cold and wet conditions many homeless people in our local area have to endure.
The link to the fundraiser is below, and any donations to support this event would go a long way to help the charity https://www.justgiving.com/page/st-olaves-sleepout.
This is alongside the volunteering that students and teachers have been doing over the course of this term at Bromley Homeless’ emergency winter shelter.
Overall, we have volunteered on six different Saturday mornings, and the students have had a gratifying experience hearing the stories and insights from the guests.
All this, alongside the money raised during Festival, has led to the school forming a strong link with the charity, and it has been great helping out across so many different aspects.
