Student Robotics over Easter

Last weekend, 12 Sixth Form students headed down to Southampton University for the Student Robotics Competition. The weekend was packed with intense matches played against schools from all over the UK, all aiming to build the tallest tower in this year’s game: ‘Urban Heights’.
St. Olave’s Student Robotics team were busy throughout the competition coding, manufacturing, testing and tweaking their robot, aptly named “Giraffery”.
With the unrelenting time pressure and with robotics glory on the line, the team performed extremely well, reflecting their hard work throughout the year in designing the robot and bringing it into reality, and ultimately taking them to the quarter finals in the knockouts.
A huge thank you to Mr Savage and Dr Ashford for supervising and supporting the team all throughout.
