Fantastic results in the UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge
We are thrilled to announce that we have had another year of outstanding results in the UK Bebras Computational thinking challenge.
The University of Oxford’s Department of Computer Science, and Hertford College run UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge every year. This year, all students (Years 7 - 13) studying Computer Science were entered.
Particular congratulations go to the top Olavian scorers in each age range, who achieved the top scores for Kent!
These were: Sam Campbell (Elite aged 16 - 18); Shaurya Mehta (Senior aged 14 - 16); Ayush Penumarthy (Intermediate - aged 12 - 14), Aksel Lutzow & Giles Maxwell (Junior -aged 10 - 12)
Of all the students that took part, 282 students achieved a Gold Award, meaning 47% of St. Olave’s participants ranked in the top 10% of participants nationally.
These students will be invited to participate in the OUCC challenge (Oxford University Coding Challenge) in January.
Thank you to all Computing teachers for taking the time in lessons to allow students to participate and achieve such a great set of results.
